The 25 Things We Learned To Get The Most Out of Life

Life is short and with the fast paced life that we lead, we often forget the little things that make life worth living.  We get caught up with everyday problems and we forget to enjoy life and take for granted the things that we have.

Aside from our interest in everything geek, we also get along pretty well because of the beliefs and principles that we both live by. What makes our partnership special is the way we both are able to encourage and inspire each other. We hope that the 25 things we have listed here will allow you to remember the lessons that can help you get the most out of life.

1.   Think before speaking – It is easy to say things when we are hurt or when we are angry but remember we cannot take back easily what was already said.  It is always good to take a deep breath and think before you speak hurtful words.

2.   Be a student of life -  Always be open to learning.  We stop growing the minute we think we know everything.

3.   Never give up – Quitters never win. We find it also helpful to be around people you trust and will support you no matter what.

4.   Follow through on commitments- Your word is your honor. Integrity is important to us both, so we do our best to make sure that we honor our promises.  Don’t commit to anything you don’t believe in.

5.   Live your passion, don’t just talk about it – Most people miss the opportunities that come to them because they wait for the right moment to happen. They end up just talking about it without giving it life and just acting on it.

6.   Happiness is a choice – We may not have control of all our emotions and our life but we do have the capacity to make things happen for ourselves that will make us happy.

7.   Remember you can’t please everyone -  The minute you start to live your life to please others, you are assured of a life of misery beause no matter what we do we can never please everyone.

8.   Love yourself – We should always remember that we are all unique, we all have talents and skills that makes us special. Before we can love others, we must love ourselves first.

9.   Share a smile everyday - Aside from the fact that you gain health benefits from smiling, it will definitely make another person’s day if you share a smile with them. Besides smiling is free.

10. Be positive, negativity will not get you anywhere – There are already so many problems and worries that burden us everyday.  The only way to combat that is maintaining a positive attitude.  Look at the glass half full rather than half empty.

11. Count to 10 when you are angry – Our parents were wise to teach us to control our anger. As mentioned in the first point, we can never take back hurtful words or actions easily.

12. Give without expecting anything in return – This is something that we both believe in. Sharing is caring.  More often than not, what we give usually comes back to us a hundred fold, even if we don’t expect anything in return.

13. Be kind – Be kind to others and most importantly be kind to yourself.

14. Remember the 5 simple words-  Thank you, Please, You’re welcome, 5 words that may be simple yet powerful.

15. No Drama Please – This world will be a better place if we leave all the drama behind but rather concentrate on the more important aspects of life. Just remember, it is not always about you.

16. Ask for help when you need it – Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It’s not a sign that you are stupid. Sometimes we forget that people are not mind readers, they will never know that you need help if you don’t talk about it.

17. Bad things can happen to good people too – Life is not perfect.  Bad things happen period, even to good people.  All one can do is to make sure that if you fall, you must also learn to get up and move on.

18. Success comes to those who are not afraid of hard work – We believe in the saying, to be successful, it takes 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.

19. Laugh often -  We both love goofing around, and one thing that is common to us is that we love to laugh. There are many benefits you get from laughing.  Have you experienced the cleansed feeling after a good laugh? Laughter provides a physical and emotional release.

20. To err is human – Everyone makes mistakes. Let’s try to be more forgiving.

21. Be generous with compliments – It’s easy to find fault in others and we sometimes concentrate too much on those faults. Try giving creative criticism and compliments as it does not only boost confidence but also motivates another person to do his or her best.

22. Live a balanced life – As we mentioned earlier, life is short. Work hard but also make sure you have some time to have fun and time for the people that we love and care for.  Sometimes the best gift we can give them is our time.

23. Be respectful of other people’s time – Be punctual.  It may seem corny but true, time is gold. It is something that we can never bring back once it’s gone.

24. Age is just a number - We all age, and with age comes wisdom.  We should never let our age hamper us from living the life we want to live. Some people miss the mark because they put limits on what they can do.

25. Love is friendship caught on fire – Love should not be complicated. One thing that we enjoy most about our relationship is that we treat each other as friends, we are there for each other, we let each other grow and never forget to have fun.
