There have been a lot of gigantic Star Wars creations built with LEGO bricks over the years, but this one could be one of the most magnificent ones of all. It’s a huge Death Star constructed with a half-million itty-bitty LEGO bricks. As you can see in the pictures below, it took a crane to lower the top half of the battlestation into place. That’s because it weighs an almost unbelievable 1,900lbs (862kgs). It’s 13 feet (3.9 meters) high and 8 feet (2.4 meters) wide.
A few weeks ago, I wrote an article here on PodJam called How to Get Your Creative Juices Flowing Again. It got me thinking a lot about how to boost our creativity when we’re going through a dry spell. Many people believe you have to wait for inspiration to strike, but I have a different point of view. In my experience, I’ve found that it’s better to work through it. Just the action of always moving forward is often times enough to jumpstart creativity.
It’s 2015 and what better way to start the year than by committing to a better “you.” Maintaining a healthy life can sometimes be taken for granted. We tend to place our health on the back seat when we get busy with life and work. Entrepreneurs, navigating busy schedules and money issues, are frequently guilty of this and only pay attention to their health when they feel that something is not right.
It has been more than a year now that I‘ve been working for the company that I co-founded with my husband. I handle the day-to-day operations and client work for the business. Over the years I have worked for other companies and was never home and always on the go. What I love most now is I can work at home which is especially nice particularly when the weather conditions get nasty. One thing that I really love working for my own company is that I can work anywhere. Since a lot of my work is online, I can really work from anywhere whether it’s the beach or at a downtown coffee shop. I find it really liberating.
Here in the States, Halloween is a big deal. Even parents who don’t let their kids eat sugar usually break the rules for this one night of the year. If you don’t celebrate Halloween, you might not be aware that there is a hierarchy of houses on Halloween night. If you want to be one of the cool houses, you have to give out chocolate candy. Of course, I’m biased about what I consider to be cool.
No matter how much candy I buy, I always seem to run out before the end of the night. It’s so sad to have to close the door and turn off the light when my candy supply is prematurely depleted. This year, I’m determined not to run out of candy. When I go shopping today, I’m going to buy several backup bags of chocolate candy so I can be sure to have enough.
