I read today that 87% of all customer service related comments on social media are ignored by brands. I don’t know if that number is correct, but if it is, it seems high to me. That is a lot of ignored tweets, Facebook feedback, Instagram comments and other social media opportunities for engagement that are just dangling out there somewhere.
If you’re a huge Star Wars fan like me, you find a way to relate almost everything in your life to a Star Wars character. Any diehard Star Wars fan knows that our entire existence as human beings can be dissected down into a battle between good and evil. Okay, maybe not, but thinking about Star Wars sure makes the workday go by faster!
Speaking of the workday, what Star Wars character are you at work? This fun little flowchart will help you determine if you’re working on the dark side. Or, maybe your boss is secretly the Emperor, which could explain a lot about the morale of everyone in your office.
Those who know me know that I’m one of the biggest Star Wars fans in the world. My lovely Twitter friends send me Star Wars stuff almost every day to tweet. If it’s happened in the world of Star Wars, I’ve watched it, read about it or written about it. I remember a while back when the first Jedi School opened.
It immediately got me thinking about being an entrepreneur, and how cool it would be if there were a Jedi School for entrepreneurs. You could go in as an entrepreneurial Padawan and come out as a Jedi Master.
Here in the United States, smoking is on the decline and has been for several years. Although smoking is dangerous for our health, a colleague of mine recently pointed out a positive aspect of smoking. Back in the days when smoking at work was popular, at least it was a reason to take five or ten minute breaks from work. People would walk outside for their smoke breaks and get a little sunshine.
If I had to make a list of my top favorite things about being alive, one of them would be the ability to learn new things every day. I’m naturally curious, and when I find something I’m interested in, I want to learn as much as I can about it. I think this is the reason why social media is fascinating to many people. Twitter is an endless stream of interesting tidbits of information to learn about. If you’re like me though, you prefer to learn in some ways instead of others.
