When @TheOnlineMom (Monica Villa) invited us to an upcoming Verizon Wireless event, we emailed back with an enthusiastic yes. We are part of the Verizon Lifestyle Blogging Team and a trip to New York city to meet the Verizon executives and blogging team was part of the program. We got to dine and share drinks with our fellow bloggers and also got a first hand look at the range interesting and cutting edge technology Verizon Wireless has to offer. It was an amazing one and half days of learning and fun. In addition to it being a great experience, the best part was the opportunity to meet people in person we have been interacting with virtually on social media. Face to face interaction is a must for us and here are three reasons why:
Grow Your Network
If you are given the chance to be part of a brand blogging community or program like we have, you must grab it. It is refreshing to be part of a program where you have the opportunity to interact with fellow tech geeks and bloggers. This enables us all to connect with more people thus growing our network. Conversation too becomes more interesting. In our experience, face to face interaction completes the circle online to offline. The beauty of the Verizon Lifestyle Blogging program is that we get to meet and interact with people with diverse backgrounds and had the opportunity to learn from each other.
We believe social media is a great catalyst to meeting people online, but if you want to take it to the next level then meeting in person is a must. Connecting in person gives you the chance to build deeper relationships and bonds that go beyond just engaging virtually on social networks.
Learning Is More Fun
Along with the diversity of the team, we noticed that everyone on the team has complementary skills. Learning is really more fun when you are together in one place exchanging ideas and bringing it online after the trip. Your online interactions take on a deeper meaning after having the chance to meet and get to know each other in person.
There you go, the three reasons why face to face interaction is a must. You build your network and at the same time make new friends. Check out the video highlights of our two day tech experience when we were in New York below. Hope you enjoy it as much as we had putting it together.
Have you had any experience participating in a similar lifestyle blogging program? Share your thoughts with us by leaving a comment. We would love to hear from you.
